Summer's end is near, and I'm not sure if I am relieved or saddened. Living in Idaho, about the middle of February I am cursing mother nature. Praying for warmer weather. I sometimes feel us Idahoans get jilted when it comes to weather. We barely get a fall, then winter is sooooo long and summer seems to fly by, and then before we know it winter again. I shouldn't complain, being from California; Idaho is by far one of the most beautiful states to live in. I love that I am surrounded by mountains and farm land. I wouldn't want to live in the "suburbs" Going home for a month was what I needed. I feel like myself again. I miss my Momma terribly and wish I didn't live so far away from her. Thank goodness for blogs and the internet. They help keep my sanity. So here's to fall, my favorite season of all.

With the weather being so hot outside I decided to finish canning the remainder of Apricots from tree one. I still have one more tree and I have no idea what to do with them. Since I left California I have been craving my Sisters Veggie Dip she made for my Nephew's 2nd Birthday. I didn't have all the herbs she used so I used what I had. Basil & Cilantro. The pictures are in the reversed order obviously. I still am trying to figure this computer out. Will post the recipe

So I have discovered Mod Podge...... It is a little tricky and will take plenty of practice and projects to master it. I think for my first time using it, my chair and boring old cookie jars turned out pretty stinkin cute. Now on to linen and stamps.......

Home
I left Idaho on June 26th. It would be the first time I made the drive alone. I was nervous and excited at the same time. I was looking forward to seeing family and old friends whom I hadn't seen in almost three years. My little one Simon the Pug decided he didn't want to ride in his crate so instead he slept on my lap the entire 11 hour drive. My intention was to stay a little over two weeks. Being home felt wonderful. I missed my Mother. When the two and a half weeks were up my Mother suggested staying another week so we could hit up our all time favorite flea market. Without any hesitation I complied. Let's see..... drive another long 11 hours tomorrow or stay another week and prolong the lonely drive. I did have Rob Lowe's memoir on audio for the drive to California which did help pass the time. I think I will stay YES! What a wonderful almost a month long visit it was. I truly enjoyed myself. It was a much needed break. To make it even better, Brant and his son Will flew out to drive back with me. So Sweet... I promise not to let another three years go by before I go home for a visit.....

Hello my fellow Bloggers, I am new to this and still trying to figure out how this works. These past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of changes. I have a new addition in my life. My sweet lil Pug Simon. He has brought such a newfound joy to my world I can not imagine life without and wonder why after growing up with Pugs I waited so long to get one of my own. As I await the coming of Spring I can only dream of all of the projects I want to start. I have a shop full of furniture that needs to be restored. How am I going to do this with my lil guy running all over? Maybe I need a basinet?? Is that absurd for a dog or what?
